To the Land of Bluebonnets

Field of Texas Bluebonnets

If you told me a year ago that I would be living in Texas, pursuing my dream of becoming a full-time author and my husband would be living his dream in the space industry, I would have told you “shut up, you’re crazy!”

But here we are. In the land of bluebonnets and oil fields.

We live our lives a little differently. Some may call us immature, impulsive, and short-sighted but I believe we are just the opposite. We don’t want to be five years down the road wondering “what if.”

So yes, we left comfortable. We left two incomes, job security, and everything we’ve ever known and loved to move 700 miles away. I feel extremely fortunate to have this opportunity. Things just aligned perfectly to make this happen from the way my husband got this job to the school we found for the kids. My mom would call them “greenlights” and honestly, that is what they feel like.

So here I am, brand new, writing my words down hoping that someday someone will read them and enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
